Who am I?

Who am i?

My name is Antony Chesworth I am 27 years old and live in Burnley which is a medium sized town in the North West of England.

I have lived in Burnley all my life except for 4 years when I went to Lancaster University and worked up there for an extra year. Not exactly something to be bragging about.

I would class my occupation as entrepreneur, but since that means you get zero credit rating ill stick with Managing Director. I run my own company called Ekm Systems Ltd which I setup in 2002 when I wrote a online ecommerce system called ekmPowershop.com. Initially when I setup the company I had no money at all and so ran up over £12,000 of personal debt and had to claim the dole and look for work at the same time. People would tell me to give up and that it wouldn’t be a success but I preserved and over a 3 year period I managed to get 100 customers each paying me £19.99 per month.

Once I had the initial 100 customers the snowball effect started and the company picked up momentum picking up lots of new customers and staff. I now employ 15 people and we get around 250 – 300 new customers each month generating a turnover of over £1.5 million.

ekmPowershop.com is now the UK’s number one hosted ecommerce solution and powers 1 in 5 of all the online shops in the UK.

I`m not all work and no play, but I must admit that work is a big part of my life (it has to be). My hobbies include all the usual such as computers, internet, TV, films and cars, basically geek stuff ;)

Well that’s me, ill update this page at a later date with a more in-depth “about me” but really no one will ever look at this anyway so does it really matter?
